Taurus Uranus Retrograde in the 12th House
/With Taurus Uranus retrograde in the 12th house, life can feel like ripping an old wound -- the pain of a beautiful, nerdy girl who sat in the front of the class, bullied by the more popular Venuses who sat at the back. She doesn't know why, but she knows the answers without having to study. For the same reason, she instinctively knows that she will remain in her 12th house isolation at some level for the rest of her life. In this retrograde, she finds refuge in her martial arts class and chess games with her best friend. No one knows that she takes these classes and our protagonist prefers it that way: it is one of the only places where she feels competent in her investigations and is loathe to let anyone stomp on her parade.
Often, the person who is doing the stomping is her enthusiastic Mars in Aquarius brother, who is a hit with girls and seemingly does whatever he wants. Adults try to hem him in with their rules, but as Saturn rules him, he already knows the rules, making it that much easier for him to break them. Her brother is also intelligent, as they share the same Uranian gene, but it is evident that he is a bit more comfortable with himself, and his need to be around his intrusive motley crew of friends sometimes this creates rifts in their relationship. Right now, he is more selective about who he hangs out with and who he talks to, as Mars is in retrograde.
After school, the girl decides to visit their grandfather Saturn, who lives down the block. He is in retrograde and has taken to reminiscing about the things that once were when he was young. When his granddaughter arrives, he talks to her about his wild days in the military (complete with bar fights), goal setting for the future, finding a spouse, buying a home, and graduating from college. Their talks help her to grow up and take a long-range view of her life. She is transforming from girl to woman, and their banter, while at times cynical, is essential in allowing her space to develop and refine her ideas.
Her father Sun comes home from work and kisses her on the cheek. He is a high powered television executive, and although he rarely sees them due to the demands of his career, he is proud of both of his children. They are an extension of him -- his son has his glamour, and his daughter has his smarts (thank goodness his wife has found him! *wink*). He communicates his plans from the bottom of his heart, as the triad of family, self, and achievement are essential to him. The two sit together and using his Jupiter decan he imparts joy and high-mindedness to her. As they converse, she knows these interactions with her family is unique: the constellations of the individuals in her life are creating a cipher of personal gnosis that will never be finished, never undone.
